Dr. Mariana Reis Santimaria leads the Age-Friendly University efforts at PUC-Campinas out of their aging and longevity center, Vitalità .
Established in 1941, the Pontifical Catholic University of Campinas aims to produce, enrich, and share knowledge in a competent and innovative way in its core activities, aiming at the integral formation of the human person and the training of excellent professionals who contribute to the construction of a fair and fraternal society.

Each AFU GN Regional Lead is a leader in the Age-Friendly University Movement. They serve as a point of contact for institutions in the region interested in pursuing Age-Friendly University Status and work to coordinate activities in each of their respective regions.
They are elected to serve a 4-year renewable term.
